Paper recycling
Did you know that -
Producing recycled paper involves between 28 - 70% less energy consumption than virgin paper and uses less water (Waste Watch) For every tonne of paper recycled 17 trees are spared; 7,000 gallons of water are saved and 4,200 KWh less electricity is used (Waste Watch). These statistics alone prove that recycling is vital if we are to preserve the Earth's natural resources.
The Mayor of London is keen to highlight the issue of waste management having published The Mayor's Municipal Waste Management Strategy, Rethinking Rubbish in London, (23 September 2003) and launched the Recycle for London campaign. The aim of these initiatives is to draw attention to the need for more recycling since reliance on landfill is no longer acceptable: only 8% of London's municipal waste is recycled.
Recycling at source by separating material is the most cost-effective method of paper collection. At Lombard Recycling, we can provide the bins and containers to help you efficiently manage the recycling process within your office environment.
